Japanese craftsmanship.
JICO, an acronym for Nippon Precision Jewel Industry Co. LTD, is a Japanese manufacturer whose name is well known to afficionados of high-quality cells and diamonds for vinyl turntables, both audiophile and DJ. Based in the Hamasaka region of Japan's Land of the Rising Sun, this family-run business, whose origins date back to 1873, began its history by manufacturing sewing needles, a precision activity that already foreshadowed its future! Since 1966, the brand has been making the diamonds and cantilevers for which it is famous, and has never ceased to innovate while maintaining traditional manufacturing techniques. With the Whitelabel SD, JICO brings you its version of an undisputed icon of top club DJ booths, scrupulously respecting the characteristics of the original model.
The resurrection of an icon.
The Whitelabel SD is probably one of the best-known cells developed by Shure, thanks to its exceptional audio qualities of course, but also because of its inimitable style. A true benchmark for audiophiles and DJs worldwide, the Whitelabel SD features high output, solid bass and well-detailed mids and highs. The Whitelabel SD stylus developed by JICO brings you these same legendary features, thanks to a Type S tubular aluminum alloy cantilever, precision-worked to approximate the original Shure cantilevers as closely as possible, while offering an optimal 7° angle of attack.
High-quality synthetic diamond.
The SD range, for Synthetic Diamonds, uses synthetic diamonds in place of natural diamonds. Artificially created, these synthetic diamonds share the same optical and physical properties as a natural diamond, while offering highly consistent performance at a controlled cost. Thanks to a diamond tip with an adjusted diameter and a new cantilever damping system, synthetic diamonds are able to offer a pleasant, precise sound, more defined than a bonded natural diamond, while retaining a lifespan in excess of 200 hours.
As you can see, this WhiteLabel SD by JICO represents a solution combining high quality and affordable pricing to replace the stylus of your original Shure Whitelabel cell, while retaining the audio qualities that made it such a success.
