More info

They deliver high-resolution 96 kHz sound over 48 inputs and 36 outputs, while offering ultra-low latency of less than 0.7 ms, making them perfect for broadcast or A/V applications.

The 12 stereo mixes -configurable as groups or auxiliaries- make the SQ the perfect companion for personal monitoring setups, while the Automatic Microphone Mixer (AMM) takes over in multi-microphone environments.an I/O port capable of accommodating DANTE or WAVES cards and intercompatible with dLive systems, the SQ inherits dLive's famous DEEP plugins, the RackExtra effects library and 8 stereo stereo effects engines with dedicated returns.

Powerful and intuitive, the SQ consoles have all the tools to meet all requirements, from audiovisual to corporate events and live productions.

96 kHz XCVI processor

The SQ is a series of new generation consoles, powered by the 96 kHz "XCVI" FPGA processor developed by Allen & Heath. This processor delivers high-resolution sound with unparalleled precision and ultra-low noise with a latency of less than 0.7 ms. Capable of handling an impressive number of channels and mixes, with DEEP effects and plug-ins, SQs ensure mix consistency at the highest level.

Expandable up to 48 mic inputs

SQs carry all the inputs/outputs necessary for standalone operation. Thanks to its intelligent SLink port, SQs can also be expanded to a total of 48 mic inputs via the family of 48 kHz (AR2412, AR84 & AB168) and 96 kHz (DX168) digital stageboxes and expanders, providing a flexible and combinable solution for users of other Allen & Heath digital systems. It is also possible to connect an SQ directly to another SQ, or even to a dLive.

DEEP Ready plugins

The DEEP Plugin Processing Architecture allows users to precisely select boutique compressors and preamp emulations to suit their style and needs. DEEP plug-ins can be integrated directly into the console's input and mix channels without adding latency or configuration issues.

An incomparable mixing experience

With each new design, the Allen & Heath teams strive to get closer to the ultimate mixing experience. The SQ's dashboard is centered around a 7" high-resolution capacitive touch screen, framed by a set of high-adherence illuminated wheels to create a combination of visual feedback and intuitive, integrated manual controls. Input channels and mixes can be dragged and dropped onto any slice screen, with customizable name and color to completely create a mixing environment that perfectly reflects the way you work.

Each slice has a color bar graph giving an at-a-glance indication of the level, thanks to variable brightness and color LEDs. The SQs also offer user keys (8 for SQ-5 / 16 + 4 rotary buttons with dedicated LCD screens for SQ-6) that can be assigned key functions at hand, as well as a "Channel to all" Mix button that allows instant access to all the sends of a selected channel.up to 12 stereo mixes, ultra-low latency, and a parametric and graphic equalizer on every mix, the SQ is the perfect companion for personal monitor setups. Very compact, SQs are easy to transport, even by plane, and very robust.

Dante cards, Waves and more

The SQ is the centerpiece of an ever-expanding ecosystem of applications, expanders, audio cards and personal mixers, allowing you to connect, adapt and expand the system's capabilities to your business. SQs are compatible with standard digital audio formats: simply add a dedicated Dante or Waves digital audio card to the I/O port of the SQ to integrate directly with existing systems, provide a digital split between front-panel and returns and much more.

Flexible multitrack recording

The built-in SQ-Drive system allows you to easily make a stereo or multitrack recording of a live performance, directly to a USB stick or external hard drive. No software is required, no sound card driver problems and no computer to bring to the gig. The SQ-Drive is also a smart way to manage background music.

The SQ is also a 32x32 to 96 kHz audio interface for multitrack recording, playbacks and virtual sound check applications. The interface is ASIO and Core Audio compatible, and comes with full DAW and MIDI control capabilities.

The advanced Automatic Microphone Mixer (AMM)

The advanced Automatic Microphone Mixer features found on the SQ make these consoles a natural choice for conferences, roundtables or TV sets. The AMM is fully integrated into the console and adds no latency as the signal is not processed by a DSP or external plugin.

RackExtra Effects

Allen & Heath has a well-established reputation for creating effects emulations that rival the best plugins without the hassles associated with them. The SQs are equipped with 8 stereo effects engines and feature the famous RackExtra bank of emulations including legendary reverbs, gated reverbs, delays and modulations. All effects offer dedicated stereo returns, saving input channels.

SQ MADI provides any SQ mixer with a 64×64 MADI interface operating at either 48kHz or 96kHz. Two BNC inputs and two BNC outputs allow separate or redundant configurations, while a dual-function (input/output) BNC Wordclock connection allows the console to be either master or slave in the system.
SQ MADI allows connection and synchronization with broadcast or recording systems, OB vans and third party consoles for high channel counts via coaxial cables.
