MARTIN AUDIO T12GRID Accessories - Touring hitch system up to 6 T1215/T1230

SMA T12GRID

Touring Hanging System up to 6 T1215/T1230

The TORUS system is the ideal solution to ensure optimal diffusion at coverage distances between 15 and 30 meters, within an affordable budget. This is because point source speakers are insufficient in terms of pressure and homogeneity at these distances and line source systems are not always practical or affordable enough.

More info

Depending on the roof geometry to be achieved, the system consists of vertical or horizontal assemblies of the 2 enclosure models: T1215 and T1230, which respectively offer a vertical opening angle of 15° and 30°.

Each TORUS loudspeaker has been designed to allow for precise and versatile horizontal diffusion. In fact, with Dynamic Horn FlareTM technology, the user can manually adjust the horizontal aperture to 90°, 75° and 60° and do so symmetrically or asymmetrically. This technical feature allows not only the movement of the waveguide but also the transition of the waveguide to the baffle for a perfect geometry, thus cancelling diffractions and ensuring optimal performance in terms of efficiency and homogeneity. These adjustments are made by a discreet and intuitive rotation mechanism, accessible on the grille of each speaker.

The T1215 and T1230 are equipped with a 12" neodymium LF driver fitted with a specific phase piece that increases its sensitivity in the midrange register and allows to raise the crossover frequency. Thus, smaller treble components can be used (three 1.4" neodymium HF polymer dome compressors), which reduces harmonic distortion compared to conventional designs. In addition, the combination of 3 treble components allows for an uncompromising level of performance, even at the highest sound pressure levels.

The TORUS is the first model to be able to take advantage of Display 3, a new 3D modeling and optimization software. Among other things, Display 3 offers coverage simulation of different speaker combinations and automatically provides custom processing for each design to ensure consistent and optimized audio delivery. This program, developed by Martin Audio, is a tool that can be used in both live situations and audio integrations.

The TORUS loudspeakers are made of multi-ply cabinetry and Warnex coating, chosen for its shock resistance. The mechanical parts are integrated into the enclosure to meet the requirements of discretion of fixed installations while facilitating deployment in performance. The placement of the handles has been optimized to facilitate installation. TORUS enclosures are available in black or white.

Integrated hanging systems allow the TORUS to be deployed horizontally to achieve 180° of coverage and up to 6 speakers can be stacked in vertical deployment. There are 7 different accessories available for all types of setups.

The speakers are passive and have two NL4 connectors. The selection of pins 1+ 1- or 2+ 2- is done by a switch on the back of the box and facilitates the distribution of the different processing zones. TORUS is powered by the iK42 and iK81 platforms of the iKON series. Thus users benefit from the VU-NET control software and Dante integration of the IK amplifiers.

The TORUS system can be complemented by the SX series subwoofers and particularly the SXCF118, a hanging cardio sub that has the width of the T1215 and T1230 speakers thus allowing complete systems to be hung or stacked.

Three years of development went into creating the TORUS system, which differs from similar products on the market in a few ways.

- Tonal balance preserved regardless of assembly combination and horizontal aperture settings, thanks to Dynamic Horn FlareTM technology

-High mid/high sensitivity

-Absence of interference between modules and therefore absence of lobes and comb filter phenomena.
