In 2019, Pearl makes this coveted sound available with the Masters Maple/Gum Series, the first limited-production Masterworks drum kit we've ever made. Available in two configurations for the sound-loving and sound-conscious. Each kit includes 6 plies/5.4 mm including 4 maple outer plies and 2 North American premium eucalyptus inner plies with 60-degree bevels, Mastercast Die- Cast hoops and CL Bridge shells.

A unique manufacturing technique
Thanks to the world's first high-temperature hydraulic drying system, Pearl's SST method was developed to manufacture a bonded multi-layer drum shell with single-layer resonance and resistance.
This exclusive technique starts with premium woods hand-selected for their unique acoustic characteristics.

Each layer is milled to a precise thickness and bonded into two-layer panels.
Our trademark overlapping joints are added to ensure a perfect, airtight fit.The wood layers are saturated with Pearl's exclusive "AcoustiGlue", which penetrates every pore and dries to the exact consistency of the wood for optimum resonance.
The plies are finally formed in high-temperature molds with 1000 PSI hydraulic pressure, producing the ultimate air chamber for optimal resonance, extreme strength and superior sound.
All barrels are tested for consistency and quality before drilling and assembly to ensure perfect seating and tuning.

An incredible dynamic range
6-ply, 5.4 mm North American maple (4 outer plies) and eucalyptus (2 inner plies). The natural warmth of maple is enhanced by the dense, controlling character of eucalyptus, resulting in increased tonal versatility and diversity.

60° outer chamfer
A slightly deeper edge that draws increased power and bite from the finesse of the hybrid maple and eucalyptus barrel.
