The SSL 2+ is a USB audio interface developed by the Solid State Logic (SSL) brand, whose reputation in the world of professional audio is well established. For over 40 years, this prestigious brand has developed some of the world's most famous mixing consoles, such as the 4000 and 9000 series, and equipped some of the world's most famous recording studios, such as Abbey Road Studios in London. Heritage of the famous mixing consoles equipping the greatest studios, the SSL 2+ features an analog reinforcement circuit called "Legacy 4K", in homage to the legendary SSL4000 console that inspired it, used by the greatest sound engineers such as Chris Lord-Alge (Green Day, Muse...) or Andy Wallace (Linkin Park, Coldplay...). This switch adds that subtle but inimitable musical touch to your sound that is unique to these expensive analog consoles, instantly distinguishing your recordings from others. Thoughtfully designed for musicians and producers, the SSL 2+ features 2 Neutrik-equipped XLR/jack combo inputs with individual gain control and ALPS-branded potentiometers. These connections feed two superb SSL designed mic preamps with enough gain to give a punchy sound to any mic you connect. The inputs have a 48V phantom power supply to power static mics, and are switchable to line level -to connect a digital piano or music production system for example- and high impedance -HI-Z- allowing you to connect a guitar directly to the interface.

An ultra-complete collaborative platform.

The SSL 2+ features a full array of outputs, richer than on the more solo-oriented SSL 2. In addition to the two jack-format monitor outputs , the SSL 2+ offers a pair of unbalanced Rca outputs transmitting the same signal as the jack-format outputs, as well as a second pair of Rca's returning the signal from USB channels 3 and 4, the level of which is adjustable via the DAW. The SSL 2+ also features two professional headphone outputs with independently adjustable NJR high-powered amps, and a "3 & 4" switch on the B-headphones to pre-listen to USB channels 3 and 4 if required. The interface allows you to listen to the signal coming directly from your instruments by setting the Monitor Mix knob to the far left, or the signal coming back from the computer to the right, or even both channels of an instrument connected to both inputs (such as a keyboard) by pressing the Stereo switch. Finally, the comprehensive SSL 2+ features a Midi input and output for driving compatible external devices, such as keyboards or drum machines.

The SSL 2+ actually comes with two production software (DAWs), Avid Pro Tools First, a true standard, complemented by a collection of 23 AAX plugins by SSL exclusive, as well as Ableton Live Lite for producers. This interface also offers you a license for Native Vocalstrip 2 and Drumstrip plugins, for voice and drums, as well as 6 months free trial to all other Native SSL plugins, but also to Native Instruments Komplete Start offering 2000 customizable sounds and Hybrid Keys, dedicated to piano and synth samples. This ultra-complete offering is rounded out by 1.5GB of samples from the Loopcloud app, dedicated to loops and ready-to-use samples.
