The silver version gives an alternative sound with a larger gain reserve, which can sound like a distortion pedal when pushed to its limits. The gain knob is actually a mixing pot between the raw signal and the overdrive signal of the circuit, mixing the basic sound and its attack with the saturated signal that colors the sound with pleasant harmonics. With the gain knob at the beginning of the travel and the volume high, you get a boost of your signal for more volume and clarity, when the gain knob is in the middle and end of the travel, a natural, warm and quite transparent overdrive will warm up and magnify your playing. The treble knob allows you to adjust the high frequencies and set a more or less bright sound. The Horseman offers all this spirit at a decidedly attractive price.

In addition to offering those much sought-after tones, the Nux Horseman concentrates several practical and musical features to offer the maximum in its mini pedal format. Firstly, it offers 2 modes (Gold and Silver) using the sounds and gain ranges of the gold or silver versions, for two different overdrive characters (the mode change is accessible by pressing the footswitch for more than 1.5 seconds). Also, an internal voltage converter allows to transform the signal from 9V to 18V in order to produce a better dynamic in the game and especially more headroom, getting even closer to a more harmonic sound of a tube amp. Finally, the Horseman offers the option to process your signal with a True Bypass to keep the signal intact, or to activate a Buffer for better sound processing if you multiply the effect pedals, to avoid signal loss. To choose, simply hold the footswitch while powering up the pedal and the color of the LED indicates which mode is chosen (red for true bypass / green for buffer bypass).
