More info

Although more compact, the C-Class remains a dLive system at heart, following the same mission as the S-Class: to provide a digital mixing system that makes even the most complex of mixes incredibly simple. To accomplish this mission, the C-Class takes advantage of the broad ecosystem of applications, software and controllers developed for the dLive S-Class system, making it a scalable and adaptable system for any need.

The advanced features and compactness of the dLive C-Class system make it a top choice for theaters, boardrooms and large meeting rooms, multipurpose rooms and rental fleets.

XCVI processor

The dLive C-Class draws its power from the same source as its larger sibling, the S-Class: the XCVI processor, which was developed by the Allen&Heath R&D team. It employs state-of-the-art FPGA technology implementing 36 parallel virtual processing cores, generating enough power to process information from 160 mixable input channels to 64 buses at 96kHz. The XCVI's computational power (25 billion operations per second) allows the dLive to handle 128 inputs and 16 stereo effects returns, a configurable 64-bus architecture, virtually infinite headroom thanks to the 96-bit accumulator, and ultra-low latency of 0.7 ms.

Audio DEEP plugin technology

The DEEP plugins available natively in the dLive are derived from a demanding selection of the audio industry's great reference standards, modeled using a proprietary technique concerned with phase consistency, accompanied by very low latency.

Again, the XCVI Audio Engine allows these DEEP plugins to be inserted on all mix voices and output buses without burdensome licensing and without the need for constant monitoring of the latency inherent in inserting third-party processors.

Dyn8

In addition to the wide range of processing applicable to channels, the dLive offers a sophisticated and powerful tool embedding 4 bands of dynamic EQs and 4 bands of multiband compressors. With its multiple applications-vocals, drums, mastering, mixing and more-the Dyn8 is radically changing the way we think about dynamic processing. No less than 64 Dyn8 engines are available for insertion into Input and Mix channels, and can be self-assigned.

An intuitive workspace

The information display is fully customizable on dLive systems, providing the user with a mixing interface that truly reflects their own mental blueprint of the concert or installation at hand. The goal of the dLive is to create a quick and intuitive workspace, allowing the user to focus on the mix, not the desk itself. Any input or mix can be assigned to the desired bank or layer, and each input or mix slice can be given a name and a defined color. On the C2500 and C3500, the user has 3 pages of 6 assignable rotary encoders.

A complete and constantly evolving ecosystem

The dLive is much more than just a mixing console: it's a true ecosystem that can handle up to 800 inputs and 800 system outputs. The MixRack, the true heart of every dLive system, works in osmosis with surfaces, applications, software, TCP/IP control, and remote IP control, all of which offer a different way to control the dLive system. Able to support up to 5 128-channel I/O ports suitable for a wide selection of audio network cards, able to be paired with the DX32 modular I/O expander, and compatible with the ME personal monitoring system, the dLive's highly flexible modular architecture allows it to cope with any situation.

The IP6 and IP8 network controllers offer the ability to deport physical control of the surface, or even dispense with the surface altogether by leveraging only the power of the MixRack.

dLive Director: online/offline editor

The dLive Director software is a complete cross-platform control system for your dLive system, offering the ability to set up your system offline before a performance, check and edit SHOW files, and control the mix live using your laptop or a touch tablet.

With an intuitive and precise interface, the software allows resizing of fader banks for operation on tablets and touch devices with varying formats.

Compatible on both Mac and Windows, dLive Director offers the same experience regardless of the device you use, so you can focus on the mix rather than the interface.

In offline mode, dLive Director is the perfect companion for any sound engineer on the road, offering the ability to configure your dLive system, channels, inputs/outputs, and surface layers prior to performance, whether you're on the train, plane, or in the office.

In online mode, dLive Director adds a second virtual surface to any dLive system, conferring simultaneous remote console control. The ability to perform different tasks simultaneously means that one sound engineer can do front-of-house sound checks from the surface, while another engineer works on the monitor mix on stage from the tablet.

dLive MixPad: mixing with freedom

The dLive MixPad app is the perfect tool for any sound engineer who wants to mix while mobile.

This iPad app gives you the opportunity to be able to walk across the stage and control the resulting sound wherever you want.

The app and the Surface can work together, and offers simultaneous control for independent uses. For example, one engineer on the Surface can handle the front of house, while another on the iPad can mix the monitoring portion near the stage.

The MixRack is the 96kHz XCVI core of every dLive system.

It is in most cases connected to a dLive surface, but it can also be controlled by a computer or iPad, iP remote control, or third-party control app via TCP/IP.
